"The Coronavirus Fights the Little Girl”
/This year’s 2020-2021 investigation focused on storytelling and the Coronavirus pandemic. The Green Room kids spent their year learning about the body, and how the body fights germs. They drew connections between scientific knowledge and the storytelling themes of fables, fairy tales, and non-fiction books. The investigation culminated in the group creating a fairytale titled “The Coronavirus Fights the Little Girl”. The story fuses both their understanding of the science behind the pandemic and their creativity and imagination of creative storytelling. The kids collaborated to both author and illustrate the book. Through photography as a medium, the Green Room built a set, characters, and props to illustrate each scene.
