Sound Investigation

From their first week of school, the Green Room children showed a classroom-wide passion for music. This interest expanded in the fall to include topics related to noise, and sparked an initial investigation of sound. During this two-month investigation, the children explored different ways of making sounds around the school, built instruments (both functional and representational), and performed in a musical group they called The Rubber Band. As part of the sound investigation, Green Room children made audio recordings of daily routines, then used them in storytelling and writing projects.
